    In our first episode of ‘Beyond the Bio’, Stephanie Kho, currently a part of the Food & Nutrition (F&N) Practice at Kerry Consulting, shares her inspiring journey from working in the F&N industry to recruiting top talent for clients within the same sector.

    Discovering a Passion for Recruitment

    Stephanie’s career began in a technical role within the public sector, where she cultivated research and development partnerships with food and consumer care companies. It was during this time that she realized her deep enjoyment for interacting with people—a pivotal realization that would shape her career trajectory.

    “I realized one of my favorite parts of my job was interacting with people,” Stephanie recalls. “I have a keen interest in talent and people, and I still very much enjoy being part of the industry that I came from.”

    The Right Fit

    Stephanie’s career took a significant turn when she discovered the Food & Nutrition Practice at Kerry Consulting. This opportunity allowed her to merge her passion for people with her expertise, experience and network in the industry. 

    “All the stars seemed to align back then, which is why I’m here today!”

    Impacting Lives & Careers

    One of the most fulfilling aspects of Stephanie’s role is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in other people’s lives and careers. She found fulfilment in being able to “understand their motivations and strengths, and then find a good fit for the candidate as well as the company.”

    Stephanie’s background in the industry enhances her ability to qualify candidates effectively. This firsthand experience allows her to ask the right questions and serve as a trusted partner to clients.

    “It definitely helped me to understand the role a bit better and be able to qualify candidates better, ask the right questions and be a better partner to our clients.”

    Advice for Aspiring Recruiters

    Reflecting on her journey, Stephanie offers advice to those considering a career in recruitment. “Recruitment is rewarding but requires resilience, it’s fast-paced and dynamic, so embrace a growth mindset and be willing to learn.”

    “If it resonates with you,” Stephanie encourages, “go for it. It’s always daunting every time we try something new, but if you never try, you’ll never know.”
