AI Research Scientist, Food Innovation
We are seeking a Research Scientist specializing in AI and Machine Learning to join a leading food manufacturing company. In this impactful role, you will apply advanced machine learning techniques to analyze complex R&D and factory data, accelerating the development of new food products and enhancing manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to uncover insights, optimize product formulations, and support data-driven innovation across the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
As the Research Scientist, your primary responsibilities will include developing and deploying machine learning models to analyze R&D and production data, uncovering patterns to inform formulation, ingredient optimization, and processing efficiency. You will work closely with food scientists, engineers, and innovation teams to translate data insights into actionable product improvements. You will be expected to contribute to the development of predictive models, support experimentation and design of trials, and help establish scalable AI pipelines for ongoing product innovation efforts.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have proven experience of applying AI/ML techniques in an R&D or manufacturing setting, preferably within the food, consumer goods, or pharmaceutical industries. A Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Food Science (with data science expertise), or a related field is required. Proficiency in Python or R, and familiarity with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch is essential. Experience working with time-series or sensor data, statistical modeling, and experimental design is highly valued. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and collaborative work in cross-functional teams will be important to your success. Exposure to digital twin technologies or prior experience in food innovation will be an advantage.
