      This is a reputable international energy trading group with an extensive global reach and a diversified portfolio. Due to the group’s interest to strengthen their analytics capabilities in power markets, there is now an exciting opportunity for an Asia Pacific Lead Power Market Analyst to support the Power traders based in Singapore and the region.

      Role

      Reporting to the Global Head of Analytics based in the corporate headquarters, the role will drive all market research and trading analytics activities for the Power Markets in Asia, predominantly Australia and Japan. The lead analyst will lead the development and maintenance of their power market analytics suite, working closely with the trading desk to provide strategic insights and quantitative analysis. Some key responsibilities include but are not limited to developing market forecasting models, creating automated data analysis tools, and building optimisation algorithms for renewable assets including solar, wind, and batteries. He/ She will also collaborate with the adjacent Gas/ LNG teams to develop cross-commodity perspectives and identify trading opportunities across Asian energy markets.

      Requirements

      The ideal candidate will bring a strong quantitative background combined with practical experience in power markets analysis and trading analytics. Post-graduate qualifications in a financial or quantitative discipline will be highly desirable. Python programming, expertise in time series analysis and stochastic modelling, and deep understanding of Asian power market fundamentals will be key to the success of the role.
