AVP / VP – Finance (Family Office)

Description
We are working with a boutique asset management firm seeking to hire a Finance Manager who will report directly to the Principal of the firm.

Responsibilities
This is a critical, standalone role suited to a highly experienced finance professional who can take full ownership of the finance function. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the company, managing everything from high-level strategic planning to day-to-day operational finance.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for developing budgets and forecasts, analyzing financial performance, and providing strategic insights to support business decisions. They will also be tasked with preparing or reviewing financial statements, ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations, and coordinating with external auditors and regulatory bodies.

Cash flow and liquidity management will fall under their remit, including maintaining relationships with banks and financial institutions. The role also involves tax planning and compliance, with a focus on optimizing the firm’s tax position while meeting all regulatory obligations. On the operational side, the Finance Manager will oversee accounts payable and receivable, manage expense reporting and financial transactions, and implement robust financial controls to ensure accurate record-keeping. In addition, the candidate will be expected to continuously enhance financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A CPA, CFA, or a master’s degree would be advantageous. We are looking for someone with seven to ten years of proven experience in a finance role, preferably within an asset management or hedge fund environment. A deep knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws is essential, as is proficiency in financial software and tools such as Excel or SAP.
