Company Description:
This is a commodities trading company operating globally. In line with its business growth, there is now an opportunity for a Claims Executive to join the high performing team.
Main Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for managing all payable and receivable demurrage, including handling claims with shipowners and trading counterparties. The role involves overseeing the full claims process from submission through to the payment or receipt of agreed amounts. Key responsibilities include ensuring timely submission of receivable claims to avoid time barring and accurately analyzing and calculating demurrage claims with reference to governing contracts and supporting documents.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, candidates should have experience in demurrage and claims within an oil trading chartering firm or owner’s outfit. A solid understanding of the tanker and clean petroleum products industry is required, along with familiarity with charterparties such as Asbatankvoy, BPVoy5, Shellvoy6, as well as INCOTERMS and trading contracts including GTCs. Strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines are essential.
