Cyber Data Engineer, Automotive Industry – 12 month contract

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join the cybersecurity team of a leading global company. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and managing data pipelines within the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platform. You will collaborate closely with local and HQ cybersecurity teams to improve log data quality, drive better threat detection capabilities, and ensure seamless data integration from diverse sources.
Responsibilities:
You will play a key role in analyzing, transforming, and modeling log data to enhance threat visibility across the organization. You will lead efforts to parse, enrich, and map log data from various sources, optimize data performance within the SIEM, and support the connection of new data sources. You will also act as the single point of contact for parsing-related issues and contribute to the development of onboarding guidelines and data retention strategies. Collaboration with security operations, platform architects, and global stakeholders is a core part of this role.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have hands-on experience with REST APIs, Syslog, and be proficient in scripting languages like Python and Regex. A strong understanding of log collection, streaming, and threat detection is essential, as is experience working with SIEM platforms such as Splunk or ArcSight. Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP), CI/CD pipelines, Git, and container technologies would be advantageous. Prior experience in security operations or incident response environments is preferred.
