Development Manager, Market Risk – Commodities

Our client is one of the largest commodities companies globally, with its operations contributing significantly to global supply chains. They are looking to hire a Market Risk Software Development Manager, who will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing the development and maintenance of the organisation’s risk applications. You will also be responsible for managing a talented team of software developers and collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure the seamless functioning of the organisation’s risk strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert guidance and technical leadership to the software development team.
• Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of market risk applications that cater to the specific needs of  the business
• Identify and implement best practices for software development and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Develop project plans, allocate resources effectively, and ensure timely delivery of projects within budget and scope.
• Regularly communicate project progress, potential risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders and senior management.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and lead a team of software developers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
• Conduct performance evaluations, identify skill development opportunities, and promote career growth within the team.
• Work closely with risk management teams, traders, financial analysts, and other business stakeholders to understand their requirements to enhance existing applications and develop new features.
• Ensure the software applications meet high-quality standards, are thoroughly tested, and follow security protocols
• Implement measures to monitor application performance and address issues proactively.
• Implement robust security measures to safeguard sensitive data and maintain data integrity.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years leading a team undertaking Commodities Market Risk development
• Proficiency with Angular, C#, and SQL
• Strongly preferred: Azure Native Components (Azure SQL, App Services, Databricks)
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
