Director, Sustainability – Maritime/Renewables
Description
We are partnering with a global maritime company committed to sustainable, renewable energy solutions. This new, standalone role will spearhead all sustainability initiatives. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter combining technical expertise with versatility and the ability to contribute across various business areas.
Responsibilities
You will develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with company goals and industry best practices. Your responsibilities will include leading sustainability reporting efforts, monitoring ESG performance metrics, and collaborating with internal teams to integrate sustainability practices across operations. You will engage with external stakeholders on sustainability initiatives, stay informed about relevant regulations and industry trends, and identify opportunities to improve the company’s environmental and social impact. Given the dynamic environment, you will also contribute to other business areas as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements
You are degree-qualified with at least 10 years of relevant experience in sustainability, preferably in maritime, shipping, or renewable energy sectors. A strong knowledge of ESG principles, reporting frameworks, and industry standards is essential, along with excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. We are looking for a collaborative team player with a proven ability to influence at all levels of an organisation. To succeed in this role, you must be passionate about sustainability, adaptable, willing to contribute beyond core sustainability responsibilities, and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
