Front Office Data Engineer

We are working with a multnational energy company with its APAC headquarters in Singapore. They are seeking an experienced data engineer to join its front office directly supporting its market analysts and traders. This role offers the unique opportunity to blend technical expertise with business acumen while having a direct impact on trading operations.

Role

You will be part of a small but impactful team consisting of a UI/UX engineer and another data engineer reporting to the global head of data. Your primary responsibilities include managing their Data Platform (utilizing Dremio, Databricks, Tableau, and AWS), automating internal and external models, onboarding new data sources, and continuously improving their data infrastructure to support new trading ideas.

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of professional experience with Python/Spark and SQL, has a strong background working with time series and forecast data (energy trading experience preferred but not mandatory), and possesses a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience. We’re looking who can effectively communicate with traders, understand their requirements, and implement solutions that drive business decisions. Experience with AWS, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Docker, or Plexos is advantageous but not essential.
