General Manager, China (Flavors & Food Ingredients Manufacturer)

A leading global player in the flavors and food ingredients industry is seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to lead its Flavors business in China. This role will be based in Shanghai and will oversee the strategic growth and operational execution of the company’s flavors portfolio, ensuring long-term success in a highly competitive market.

Responsibilities

The General Manager will be responsible for defining and implementing a sustainable growth strategy tailored to the China market, while achieving financial targets and strengthening the company’s leadership position in flavors and flavor solutions. This includes managing the full P&L, driving innovation, and ensuring that commercial, R&D, and operational teams are aligned to deliver market-leading solutions.

Key responsibilities include developing and executing a market-driven strategy, optimizing the flavors portfolio, and enhancing customer engagement to position the company as a preferred partner. The role also involves partnering with local manufacturing sites and innovation centers in China, leading capital expansion projects, and driving business development initiatives in collaboration with global and regional teams.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the flavors or food ingredients industry, a proven track record in commercial leadership, and strong P&L management expertise.
