Group Head of Data & AI, FMCG/Retail – based in Hong Kong
We are partnering a leading FMCG/Retail client in the region on a search to identify a Group Head of Data & AI to join its leadership team in Hong Kong.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the CIO, this is an exciting leadership role with high visibility at the Group Management level.
As the key guardian for the data platform, you are responsible for leading a high performing team of data engineers, SRE engineers, ML engineers to build a scalable, stable next-generation unified data platform capable of supporting multiple lines of business in a highly matrix operating environment.
As this role sits within business/strategy/technology, you are the data/ technology representative to interface with the business and external vendors defining the strategies and priorities. You will manage a team of data analysts and data scientists to work on PoCs with the goal of moving towards a data-as-a-service/self-service data journey across the organization.
As the AI evangelist/Innovator in the team, you will be a proponent of the “NEW”, continuously scanning the market for emerging trends. You will work with a team of digital natives to brainstorm practical solutions (GenAI, IoT, RPA etc) with clear goals of ROI ie to eventually land into workable PoCs to be implemented across the firm.
Requirements
You should have at least 15 years of experience with a proven track record in establishing a strong data foundation in a highly matrix, complex international organization with multiple business lines.
You also come with strong organization and communication skills to work closely with all levels of internal and external stakeholders. Candidates with a mix of consulting and in-house data leadership experience are welcomed.
