Group Legal Counsel, Singapore HQ

Kerry Consulting is currently working with a Singapore headquartered organization that is looking for a highly motivated and experienced legal counsel to join their organization. In this role, you will be reporting directly to the senior management team and will assist in shaping and building the company’s legal function as they continue to expand in the region.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be providing legal support across all business areas including supply chain management, procurement contracts, trading agreements, M&A as well as JV agreements. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for establishing the legal department’s operational framework and assist in defining processes to help address legal risks for the business. You will also partner closely with the senior leadership team to provide inputs on regulatory developments such as sanctions rules.
As the company is active in looking at investment opportunities in the region, you would also be providing legal support on M&A activities by leading due diligence efforts, contract negotiations, and integration processes for new business entities. You will also assist to manage external law firms on an adhoc basis.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should be a Singapore-qualified lawyer with a minimum of five years of post-qualification experience. Prior experience in commodities, shipping, or the resources sector is highly preferred. Additionally, candidates should have a strong background in handling legal matters across the APAC region.
