Lead Data Engineer, Banking

We are seeking a Data Engineering expert to play a pivotal role in driving data engineering and solutioning initiatives for banking applications and AI-driven projects. Working closely with the leadership, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines, ensuring seamless integration across the bank’s technology ecosystem. This role requires a deep technical foundation in data architecture, application management, and cloud-based data solutions, along with strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.

Responsibilities:
As a Lead Data Engineer, you will engage with stakeholders to understand business application enhancements, define data-driven solutions, and oversee the successful implementation of projects. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining efficient data pipelines, optimizing data infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements. The role also involves implementing and managing ETL processes, working with AWS big data technologies, and developing advanced analytics tools to support key business functions such as customer acquisition and operational efficiency.

Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have expertise in Data Engineering and application management within a banking environment. Strong proficiency in SQL, relational databases, and big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and AWS cloud services is required. You should have hands-on experience building and optimizing big data pipelines, performing root cause analysis, and managing large-scale data transformations. Experience with data pipeline tools such as Airflow or Azkaban and Spark Streaming or Storm is key. Additionally, you should be proficient in Python, Java, C++, or Scala.
