Lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineer – Biopharma Project
Duration: Project-Based Contract 6 Months to Renew

      Introduction

A leading biopharma organisation is hiring a Lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to support a complex site-based project involving mechanical systems, process equipment, utilities, documentation alignment, commissioning readiness, and handover execution.

      Responsibilities

You will lead mechanical commissioning activities across process equipment, clean utilities, skids, piping, and supporting mechanical systems, ensuring documentation, system boundaries, punch lists, test packs, walkdowns, and mechanical completion records are properly reviewed, reconciled, and closed out. The role requires strong project coordination capability, as you will work closely with Engineering, QA, Validation, Operations, EHS, vendors, and multiple system owners to identify issues, align stakeholders, drive decisions, and execute corrective actions through to completion. You will support SAT, loop checks, functional testing, IOQ readiness, start-up activities, deviation resolution, and handover to operations in a GMP-regulated environment.

      Requirements

You bring strong mechanical commissioning experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing projects, ideally with exposure to brownfield or complex site environments. Strong stakeholder management is essential. A Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, or related Engineering discipline will be preferred.
