Legal Counsel, LNG

Kerry Consulting is partnering with a well-established international energy company seeking to expand its legal team in Singapore as part of its growth strategy. This presents an excellent opportunity for a legal counsel with LNG expertise to join the team or for a private practice lawyer with international trade experience to transition into an in-house role.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal advice on all risks related to the LNG business, including negotiating LNG sale and purchase agreements, advising on potential disputes and arbitration, and analyzing key terms related to deal structuring.
Additionally, you will support the management of external counsel and participate in negotiations with counterparties as needed. You will also assist the Senior Legal Lead in delivering training on compliance matters, including gifts and entertainment, anti-money laundering, and anti-bribery and corruption.
Requirements
In order to succeed in this role, you should be a qualified lawyer with at least 5 – 10 years PQE with prior expertise in the LNG / Oil & Gas industry is peferred. You should ideally have a good understanding of LNG SPA contracts, their key components, and the commercial implications arising from contractual terms.
