Legal Counsel (Project Finance) – 1 year contract
Kerry Consulting is partnering with a US headquarterd company that is currently on the look out to hire a project finance lawyer for their legal team. The role will be a 1 year contract with potential for extension. This is a great opportunity for financing lawyers from private practice that is keen to pivot into an in-house role.
Responsibilities
As the Project Finance Lawyer, you will provide legal support and advice on transactions related to the development and financing of projects. Your responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex project finance agreements such as loan agreements, security documents, and intercreditor agreements. You will work closely with internal business units and external stakeholders to structure financing arrangements that comply with local and international regulations.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless execution of these projects. Additionally, you will advise on legal and commercial risks, assist in risk management strategies, and provide ongoing legal support throughout the lifecycle of each project.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have minimally 5 years of post-qualification experience in project finance, preferably in the energy or oil & gas sector. You must be a qualified lawyer with strong drafting and negotiation skills, and have experience in managing complex, large-scale financings. A deep understanding of the legal frameworks and regulatory issues governing project finance in the APAC region is essential. The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and to provide commercially practical legal advice is key to this role.
