LNG Freight Operator – Fast-growing Energy Trading Company

This is a fast-growing asset backed Energy Trading Group, with both an active spot trading and LNG optimization portfolio. In line with its business growth in LNG, there is now a newly created opportunity for an LNG Freight Operator.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager of LNG Trading, the LNG Freight Operator will play a vital role in coordinating all aspects of LNG schedule optimisation, communications with vessels, vessel owners/operators, and ship operational matters. In addition, the Freight Operator will assess operational and business risks, proactively identifying and mitigating potential obstacles that could impact the company’s success. He/ She will also be regularly reporting on the operational metrics, providing invaluable insights to the wider LNG team. Working closely with the LNG Trading, Operations and Chartering teams, the LNG Freight Operator will strategize and schedule vessels jointly, and coordinate with internal teams to facilitate trading and operations of vessels.

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have a degree in a finance or engineering discipline, with 3-7 years’ experience in LNG freight operations within commodities trading. Those currently working for freight companies with an LNG focus will also be considered favourably. You will also be described as meticulous and entrepreneurial, with the ability to problem-solve independently. Due to significant interactions with businesses and stakeholders based in China, fluency in Mandarin is essential.
