Privacy & Commercial Counsel – MNC, 5+PQE

A global brand, our client is hiring a commercially savvy Corporate Counsel to join their team. This role involves providing expert advice on privacy, marketing, digital, and consumer business matters. You will offer guidance on the local, regional, and global aspects of personal data processing, including clear instructions on data anonymization. You will work closely with other legal professionals in the global Privacy team and within the APAC market. In addition, you will assist senior lawyers in the APAC market with managing, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, as well as advising internal stakeholders on various legal issues related to commercial transactions.

Requirements

• A law degree and a solid general legal background, with 5years’ PQE of relevant commercial legal and privacy experience in a reputable law firm and/or in-house.
• IAPP/CIPP or other privacy certifications
• Transactional experience within the field of data privacy law and compliance, preferably working in private consumer personal data.
• Experience with PDPA, PIPA, PIPL and other privacy (and biometrics) laws in APAC.
• Strong understanding of commercial laws and solid experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts.
• A valid work visa in Singapore.
