As their Regional Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping this expansion, with a strong focus on Japan-their largest market in APAC and the one with the highest growth potential.

      Responsibilities

      This role is responsible for managing distributor relationships in Japan and other selected Asian markets, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability. You will define and implement an area sales strategy that aligns with regional and product priorities, focusing on both defending existing revenue and driving new business. Managing distributors strategically will be key, including overseeing pricing, budgets, and performance reviews while identifying opportunities for improvement.

      A core part of this role involves working closely with customers, building strong relationships, and staying attuned to market trends, competitor activity, and evolving customer needs. You will also lead regional marketing initiatives such as customer engagement programs to increase brand visibility and pipeline growth. Collaboration with product management and internal teams will be crucial in ensuring customer requirements are aligned with business objectives. Regular sales reporting and forecasting will be essential to maintaining transparency and informing key decision-making. The role requires frequent travel of up to 50% across the region.

      Requirements

      To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in regional sales within the food ingredients or flavors industry, with a proven track record of managing distributors in Japan. Fluency in Japanese and English is essential to effectively engage with customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Science, or a related field is preferred. This role demands a commercial hunter mindset-someone who can develop new business while strengthening existing relationships. The ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and drive results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment will be key to success.
