Senior AI Data Scientist (Investment Management)

We are partnering with a leading investment management firm to hire a Senior AI Data Scientist to drive the development and adoption of next-generation AI capabilities across investment research, portfolio management, risk, and business operations.
This is a highly visible role for a hands-on AI practitioner who can design, build, and deploy production-grade AI solutions while coaching and mentoring a growing team of data and AI professionals. You will work closely with investment, technology, and business stakeholders to identify high-impact opportunities and translate them into scalable AI products and platforms.
Responsibilities
You will lead the design and implementation of GenAI, Agentic AI, and data-driven solutions across the investment lifecycle. This includes developing AI agents, copilots, RAG platforms, knowledge management solutions, and intelligent workflow automation capabilities.
You will be responsible for building scalable data and AI pipelines, establishing best practices in AI engineering and governance, and driving the adoption of modern MLOps and LLMOps frameworks. In addition, you will mentor and coach Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and Data Engineers, helping to build a high-performing AI capability within the organisation.
Requirements
We are seeking a senior AI professional with strong hands-on experience delivering production-grade Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions. Proven expertise in LLMs, RAG architectures, AI agent frameworks, machine learning, and data engineering is essential.
Candidates should possess strong programming and engineering capabilities across Python, cloud platforms, modern data architectures, and AI deployment frameworks. Experience within investment management, hedge funds, asset management, investment banking, capital markets, or broader financial services environments will be highly advantageous.
Equally important is the ability to engage senior stakeholders, translate business challenges into AI solutions, and coach technical teams while remaining actively involved in solution design and delivery.
