Description
This opportunity is with a leading international energy and commodities trading firm with a strong and growing presence in Asia. They are seeking a Senior Analyst to join their Singapore office, focusing on Risk Analytics and Risk Software Development. This is a high-impact role within a lean, collaborative team, offering broad cross-commodity exposure and direct interaction with global senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Risk, APAC, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for enhancing the firm’s risk analytics infrastructure and developing tools to support effective trading and risk decision-making. You will work across multiple commodity areas including power, metals, LNG, and freight, supporting both daily risk oversight and long-term project initiatives.Core responsibilities include the development of risk dashboards, pricing and PnL tools, and exposure models. The role also involves supporting risk committee preparations, giving you visibility and influence at the global senior management level. You will work closely with the front office, risk, and technology teams to deliver on strategic risk-related projects.
Requirements
You hold a degree in a quantitative or relevant field, with at least 5 years of experience in risk analytics, market risk, or risk systems development within a trading environment. Prior experience in commodities trading is preferred. Strong technical proficiency in Python is required, along with familiarity in SQL and data visualization. You possess strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work across functions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
