Overview
A steadily growing mid-sized energy trading firm is seeking a seasoned commodities professional to take on a pivotal role of Senior Product Controller that connects trading operations, with alignment of captured financial performance. This position offers significant exposure to the business, along with the opportunity to influence business strategy through financial analysis and insights.

Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Senior Product Controller will be responsible for planning, analysis, and reporting to support the trading business, with a primary focus on verifying gross margin gaps between Trader P&L and the financials. Analyzing and reconciling discrepancies, the business controller will ensure consistency and clarity in reporting. Preparing detailed commentaries for management and stakeholders, explaining variances, and working closely with the Accounting team to ensure accuracy of data are key responsibilities of the hire. The Senior Product Controller will collaborate cross-departments, and from time to time, handle special projects and assignments leveraging the hybrid knowledge of trading operations and reporting.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will be degree qualified, with at least 10 years’ experience in energy trading. You have a deep expertise in energy trading, along with an excellent grasp of trading and reporting systems. You will also be described as one with strong analytical and communication abilities, coupled with keen eye-for-detail.
