Description
This is a global energy and commodities trading group with an established presence in Singapore. In line with its growth ambitions and the evolving energy landscape, the Group is looking to appoint a Trading Analyst to join a high-performing team of analysts. This role offers the opportunity to be deeply embedded within a dynamic trading floor, with direct exposure to traders and senior stakeholders across global markets.
Responsibilities
The Trading Analyst will play a key role in supporting front-office decision making by providing actionable insights on trading exposures, risk positioning, and P&L drivers. He/She will work closely with traders to monitor portfolio performance, evaluate hedge effectiveness, and analyse market movements. In addition to exposure analysis, the role will involve streamlining reporting tools, supporting commercial strategy discussions, and contributing to the development of analytics capabilities across the team. There will also be opportunities to collaborate on process improvement projects and mentor junior analysts.
Requirements
The successful candidate will hold a degree in finance, engineering, or a quantitative discipline, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in a commodities trading environment. Prior exposure to oil or energy trading, along with a solid understanding of trade structures, risk metrics, and portfolio performance analysis, is essential. You are described as highly analytical, commercially minded, and capable of operating effectively in high-pressure and fast-paced environments.
