Legal Counsel – Bank, 5-10PQE

A global bank is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its APAC Corporate Banking Legal Team. In this role, you will advise on a broad range of corporate and global banking matters, with a particular focus on debt financing, including loan capital markets and fund financing across multiple APAC jurisdictions. You will have the opportunity to work closely with front-office teams on complex, cross-border transactions, and to contribute to legal strategy and risk management at a regional level.

Requirements:

This role requires a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in banking and finance, gained at a leading international law firm or in-house at a bank. Candidates must be admitted in a Commonwealth jurisdiction and hold a valid work visa for Singapore. Prior experience in cross-border syndicated lending and familiarity with LMA/APLMA documentation, along with a strong understanding of legal risks and regulatory frameworks relevant to financing transactions, are essential. Equally important is the ability to manage transactions independently while collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders. A commercial mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to provide clear, practical legal advice in a fast-paced environment are key. Experience with fund finance, export finance, or trade finance is advantageous, and proficiency in Mandarin or another Asian language is a plus, though not required.
