Kerry Consulting is delighted to announce the release of ‘The Remains of the Antarctic,’ a visually captivating photobook documenting last year’s Ocean Geographic Antarctic Climate Expedition. As sponsors of both the expedition and the photobook, we are proud to support this significant environmental initiative.
‘The Remains of the Antarctic’ offers a unique glimpse into the continent’s rapidly changing landscapes. Through striking images, it highlights the beauty and fragility of the region, drawing attention to the significant impacts of climate change on Antarctica’s glaciers, wildlife, and ecosystems.
Our sponsorship reflects Kerry Consulting’s commitment to environmental sustainability. The expedition captured within the photobook brought together scientists, photographers, and conservationists, including renowned marine biologist and explorer Dr Sylvia Earle.
Dr Earle, a former chief scientist of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and founder of Mission Blue, has dedicated her career to ocean conservation and has been a National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence since 1998. Her expertise and passion for the environment significantly enriched the expedition’s findings.
“Sponsoring Ocean Geographic’s Antarctic Climate Expedition and the ‘Remains of the Antarctic’ photobook underscores our dedication to environmental stewardship,” said Declan O’Sullivan, CEO of Kerry Consulting. “I am particularly proud to see the inclusion of my daughter Hillary’s photos in the book, as she participated in the expedition. We understand the critical need for sustainable business practices and are proud to support initiatives that promote environmental awareness and protection.”
In his foreword for the book, Mr. O’Sullivan said:
It is a privilege for me to introduce The Remains of the Antarctic, a product of the Antarctic Climate Expedition 2023 (ACE 2023), sponsored by Kerry Consulting. This book captures the expedition’s efforts to understand and protect one of Earth’s most important frontiers.
A highlight from ACE 2023 was seeing my daughter Hillary perform Rhapsody for a Changing Antarctic on a piano set amidst the Antarctic Ocean itself. Inspired by her participation in the expedition, her performance conveyed the area’s majesty and its ecosystem’s fragility. It was a stark reminder that our actions today shape the legacy we leave for future generations. I visited Antarctica in 2009 myself and it is incredibly different now!
Last year, Kerry Consulting launched an ESG recruitment practice, emphasising responsible stewardship across organisations in line with the ethos captured in this book. Led by Adnan Atan, the ESG practice extends beyond mere compliance, aiming to lead in sustainability, innovate for a healthier Earth, and motivate collective action.
I am confident that The Remains of the Antarctic serves as both a testament to the wonders of the Antarctic and a clarion call for its preservation. For all children, I am hopeful for a future where our planet’s beauty and diversity continue to thrive.
Kerry Consulting’s involvement with Ocean Geographic Society also extends to the local community in Singapore. Last year, the consultancy sponsored the ‘Melting Ice, Sinking Cities’ exhibition at the CDL Green Gallery in Singapore Botanic Gardens. The gallery featured interactive displays and exhibits that highlighted the importance of biodiversity and conservation in a global and Singaporean context.
At Kerry Consulting, we are committed to integrating sustainability into our operations and supporting projects that align with our values. The release of ‘The Remains of the Antarctic’ marks a pivotal achievement in our environmental conservation efforts and sets a standard for future sponsorships we pursue.
