AI Engineering Lead

We are seeking an AI Engineering Lead to design and build an enterprise-grade Generative AI platform for a leading organization. In this pivotal role, you will drive the development of scalable AI infrastructure, enabling internal teams to rapidly build and deploy AI-powered applications. You will work closely with business, product, and engineering teams to deliver robust, production-ready AI systems, while defining the architecture and standards for AI adoption across the organization.

Responsibilities:
As the AI Engineering Lead, your primary responsibilities will include architecting and developing a scalable GenAI platform, with a focus on agent-based systems, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and LLM-powered applications. You will lead the design of reusable AI frameworks and internal tooling to enable “build-your-own AI” capabilities for business teams. You will oversee end-to-end deployment of AI systems, including model serving, APIs, and orchestration layers, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance. In addition, you will establish best practices for LLMOps, observability, and testing, while implementing governance and responsible AI standards. You will collaborate cross-functionally to translate business needs into scalable AI solutions, while remaining hands-on in system design and development.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have at least 6-10 years of experience in AI engineering, software engineering, or data science, with proven experience building and deploying production-grade AI systems. Strong hands-on expertise in Python and experience with modern GenAI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex) are essential. You should have experience designing and implementing RAG pipelines and/or agent-based architectures, along with a solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and microservices. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes) is required. Familiarity with LLM infrastructure, model serving, and observability tools will be highly advantageous. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are important, as you will work across technical and business teams. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
