Kerry Consulting is partnering with a large, complex enterprise organisation embarking on a major SAP transformation journey. We are seeking an experienced SAP SuccessFactors Solution Architect to play a critical role in shaping and governing the end-to-end SAP architecture across S/4HANA RISE and SuccessFactors, with a strong focus on Clean Core principles, fit-to-standard adoption, and long-term architectural integrity.
This is a senior, high-impact contract role suited to architects who operate confidently at both strategic and delivery governance levels, and who are comfortable challenging System Integrators to ensure business-led, future-ready solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end SAP solution architecture across S/4HANA RISE and SuccessFactors, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s target operating model, enterprise architecture standards, and long-term digital roadmap – avoiding a like-for-like reimplementation of legacy SAP ECC.
- Serve as the architectural authority, leading and guiding the System Integrator through the end-to-end design phase, with particular ownership of SuccessFactors solution design, ensuring the proposed design delivers true business capability, scalability, compliance, and sustainability before handover to the SI for build execution.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and compliant SAP designs, validating that the SI’s functional and technical designs balance fit-to-standard adoption, extensibility, controls, reporting, and long-term maintainability.
- Review, challenge, and formally approve SI design artefacts (including functional specifications, integration designs, security design, and data models), ensuring architectural integrity prior to build commencement.
- Establish and govern architectural design decisions, maintaining a structured architecture decision log that documents options considered, rationale, trade-offs, deviations from standard, and downstream impacts – particularly across SuccessFactors modules and their integration points.
- Define the enterprise reporting and analytics architecture, ensuring that both S/4HANA and SuccessFactors data models support regulatory reporting, management insights, and integration with enterprise data platforms.
Key Requirements
- 10+ years of SAP experience, with at least 4 years focused on S/4HANA and SuccessFactors solution architecture and design governance in complex enterprise environments, including leading System Integrators through design phases prior to build.
- Strong hands-on understanding of SAP Activate methodology, fit-to-standard delivery, and Clean Core principles, with demonstrated experience steering SIs toward optimal design decisions rather than default customisation.
- Proven experience leading and reviewing SuccessFactors functional and technical design, ensuring architectural integrity, scalability, compliance, and alignment with enterprise standards before SI build execution.
- Proven track record of governing System Integrators and influencing senior stakeholders through clear architectural direction and decision-making.
- SAP and/or enterprise architecture certifications (e.g. S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, BTP, TOGAF) are advantageous.
