This is a respected player in the global shipping and commodities sector, known for its strong operational footprint and commitment to maintaining high standards of financial stewardship. Due to continued business growth, it is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to strengthen its finance team. This role is well-suited for a hands-on professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working collaboratively across departments to support financial accuracy and business outcomes.

Role
As the Accounting Manager, he/ she will oversee the full spectrum of financial accounting activities, ensuring timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings. The Accounting Manager will take ownership of financial reporting, maintain the integrity of the general ledger, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards. As the more experienced member of the team, he/ she will also play a vital part in external audit engagements and internal compliance activities, ensuring that policies, controls, and documentation are upheld. Working alongside cross-functional teams, the manager will support operational reporting needs and contribute to ongoing projects.

Requirements
The successful candidate holds a recognised accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, or equivalent) and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, along with around 10 years of relevant experience within the shipping or commodities trading industry. Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and understanding of complex trades in commodities will be advantageous. You are also described as someone who demonstrates strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The role requires a proactive, resilient individual who is comfortable managing multiple priorities and engaging effectively with stakeholders across different functions and geographies.
