      Overview

      This is a highly respected global energy and commodities trading firm with growth ambitions. Due to internal mobility, the group is now on the search for a high calibre Market Risk Analyst to join a high performing market risk team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with traders and senior stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, driving risk oversight and innovation across complex trading strategies and products.

      Role
      Reporting to the head of risk, you will partner closely with trading teams to analyze structures, structures and embedded optionality in complex deals. The role involves conducting in-depth research into market dynamics, price behavior, and volatility to aid in commercial deal-making. Working closely with the global risk team, the Analyst will have the opportunity to be part of the development and enhancement of risk models, tools, and dashboards. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to monitoring positions, market exposure, VaR, stress scenarios, and P&L drivers, while ensuring rigorous risk reporting processes. Additionally, you will collaborate with Quant, IT, and Middle Office teams to advance the global risk management structure.

      Requirements
      The ideal candidate will be a degree or Masters holder in a quantitative discipline, along with around 5 years of experience in market risk management either within commodities trading or global markets within financial institutions. Skills in Python programming, SQL, Tableau, MATLAB will be highly advantageous. A deep understanding of risk measurement methodologies such as VaR, stress testing, options, Greeks, are critical to the success of the role. You are best described as highly adaptable, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
