Overview
A well-capitalised and established market participant is expanding its commodities derivatives origination capability and is seeking a team lead to drive growth across multiple commodities asset classes, including but not limited to energy, renewables, power, and metals. This role sits at the intersection of financial markets and physical commodities, offering the opportunity to develop sophisticated risk management and financial solutions for a broad and global client base.

Role
As Team Lead for Commodities Derivatives Origination, you will define and execute the regional origination strategy, building deep, senior-level relationships with producers, large industrials, utilities, and financial institutions. You will lead the structuring and execution of complex, bespoke derivatives solutions-ranging from long-dated and multi-commodity transactions to renewable- and transition-linked hedging products-while working closely with trading, portfolio management, credit, legal, and risk teams to ensure transactions are efficiently incorporated into wider portfolios. A key part of the mandate is to build, develop, and mentor a high-performing origination team, embedding strong commercial discipline alongside technical rigour.

Requirements
The successful candidate will hold a degree from a recognised university and have 10+ years of experience in energy origination, structured trading, commodities sales, or a related investment banking or financial markets environment, with a demonstrable track record of executing complex and high-value transactions. A postgraduate qualification in a quantitative or financial discipline is advantageous. You will bring deep knowledge of global energy and commodities markets, a strong command of options and structured products, and the ability to translate quantitative risk concepts into clear and compelling client value propositions. Proven leadership capability, sound judgement around risk and regulatory considerations, and a forward-looking perspective on energy and transition-related products are critical success factors.
