A leading education and research institution is seeking a Senior IT Security Analyst to strengthen its cybersecurity posture. This role is pivotal in driving incident response capabilities, ensuring swift and effective action against cyber threats. Role
As the Senior IT Security Analyst, you will lead the full lifecycle of incident response-from detection to resolution. You’ll be responsible for developing and refining response playbooks, conducting root cause analyses, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders during security events. The role also involves proactive threat hunting, optimizing security tools, and presenting threat intelligence to senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; GCIH or equivalent certification preferred.
- At least 8 years of experience in IT security, with 4 years in a Security Operations Center and proven leadership capabilities.
- Strong technical expertise in SIEM, EDR, firewall administration, cloud security, and scripting for automation.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct threat hunting, vulnerability assessments, and improve incident detection processes.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and drive strategic initiatives.
