APAC Head of Probiotic Ingredients (Based in Shanghai)

Description

Kerry Consulting is partnering with a global ingredients leader to appoint a Head of APAC, Probiotics, based in Shanghai. This is a senior regional leadership role within the organisation’s Dietary and Health Supplements platform, with responsibility for driving the commercial growth and strategic development of its Health & Wellness portfolio across Asia Pacific, with Probiotics being a product portfolio of key focus.

Asia represents one of the fastest-growing regions for microbiome and digestive health solutions. The business is looking for a commercially astute leader who can translate global strategy into regional execution, build strong partnerships across markets and establish a clear roadmap for sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

You will lead the regional commercial agenda for Dietary and Health Supplements Ingredients across APAC, with accountability for revenue growth, strategic account development and market expansion. Working closely with global category leadership, you will define regional priorities, identify high-potential markets and drive execution through direct customer engagement and distributor partnerships.

A key aspect of the role involves developing relationships with multinational and regional food, beverage and dietary supplement manufacturers. You will position the organisation as a strategic solutions partner, not just an ingredient supplier, and support customers in translating science-backed microbiome innovation into commercially viable products.

You will also collaborate closely with technical, regulatory and marketing teams to ensure effective go-to-market strategies, competitive positioning and alignment with evolving consumer health trends. As the regional leader for probiotics, you will play an active role in shaping portfolio strategy, pricing discipline and channel development across key APAC markets.

Requirements

You should bring solid experience within probiotics, microbiome solutions, dietary supplements or functional nutrition ingredients, with proven success in managing regional commercial responsibilities across Asia Pacific.

Prior exposure to multinational key accounts, distributor management and science-driven ingredient platforms will be advantageous. The role requires strong stakeholder management capability, commercial discipline and the ability to operate in a matrix organisation across cultures and markets.

Experience working in China and broader APAC markets will be important. This role suits a commercially driven leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and is motivated to build and scale a high-growth category within a global organisation.
