Description
This is a leading international bulk liquids and chemicals player in the logistics, transportation and infrastructure sector. They are highly respected for their commitment to sustainability, safety and business innovation, enabling them to deliver exceptional service to their customers. Due to growth ambitions and focus on Asia Pacific, the Group is on the search for an APAC Managing Director.
Role
The APAC Managing Director will lead operations in the APAC region, and will be instrumental in shaping the Group’s strategic vision, fostering business development and acting as the “face” of the Group in the region. He/ She will translate the business strategy into actionable business initiatives for APAC, collaborate with the business units to develop and execute synergistic opportunities that will align with the Group’s goals. The MD will look to identify and create regional business opportunities, with a focus on cross-BU initiatives. As MD of the region, he/ she will also be supervising the country leads, division, functional leads and their teams to ensure an alignment of the standards, and objectives to maximise value creation. Cultivating, maintain relationships with external stakeholders including government authorities, financial institutions, joint venture partners are instrumental to the success of the role.
Requirements
The successful candidate is degree qualified along with a Masters’ degree and/ or MBA. With 15+ years of experience in a leadership role, you will ideally have significant years working within a major, chemicals, logistics organization with multiple direct reports in a matrix environment. You will have a track record of providing executive leadership, inspiring and influencing teams toward their goals and objectives. Strong working knowledge and experience in Asia Pacific is a critical must-have. Due to the need to engage with stakeholders both internal and external in the Asia region, the successful candidate will be effectively bilingual in Mandarin, or another Asia Pacific language. You will also be described as excellent in stakeholder management and have the expertise in influencing and driving change.
