Assistant Director, SAP S4 HANA

About the role

A leading and transformative healthcare firm is seeking a hands-on Associate Director, SAP Implementation to independently drive the design, configuration, and implementation across finance and operations. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, this role requires a unique blend of technical mastery and business engagement, with the ability to partner and bridge perspectives of diverse stakeholders while maintaining a focus on business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the full SAP S/4HANA project lifecycle from initial design and strategic planning through sourcing and managing system integrators, user acceptance testing, go-live, and post-implementation stabilization. Serve as the subject matter expert, translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions while collaborating with finance, operations, and cross-functional teams. Bridge communication gaps among diverse stakeholders to foster collaboration and ensure clear alignment on project goals. Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure all deliverables support strategic business objectives. Drive decision-making and champion process adoption to maximize user engagement and system utilization. Proactively monitor progress, identify and mitigate risks, and resolve issues with unwavering focus on achieving project goals. Provide comprehensive training, facilitate knowledge transfer, and deliver hands-on support during UAT, go-live, and stabilization phases to ensure a smooth and successful implementation.

Requirements

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with at least 10 years of finance and/or finance systems experience. They have successfully contributed as an individual on a full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementation, from design through go-live and post-go-live support. With strong technical expertise in SAP S/4HANA configuration, integration, and testing, they translate complex technical details into clear business priorities. Skilled in engaging diverse stakeholders, they ensure cross-functional alignment and bring patience and tenacity to drive complex projects to completion. Results-oriented and solution-driven, they work independently with vendors, system integrators, and internal clients to deliver impactful outcomes.
