Batch Operations Specialist

Introduction
A leading global commodities trading organization is hiring a Batch Operations Specialist to join its Singapore office. Supporting critical overnight trading and risk operations aligned to US market hours, this role sits within a high-availability operational environment responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely completion of end-of-day (EOD) batch processing workflows. The position offers exposure to front-to-back trading operations, enterprise systems support, and real-time coordination across global technology and infrastructure teams.
Responsibilities
You will oversee and monitor nightly batch cycles and operational workflows, ensuring that scheduled jobs complete accurately and within expected timelines. The role involves executing manual workflow triggers in accordance with established operating procedures, proactively identifying processing failures or anomalies, and coordinating incident resolution across engineering, infrastructure, database, and application support teams. You will also provide timely operational updates to internal stakeholders regarding report delivery timelines, maintain accurate operational logs and incident records, and contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing manual intervention, operational risk, and recurring system issues.
Requirements
You should bring at least 3 years of experience within operations support, batch monitoring, command center operations, or a related production support environment. Familiarity with job scheduling or workload automation tools such as ActiveBatch will be advantageous, alongside working knowledge of Windows-based systems and enterprise applications. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly in managing high-pressure operational escalations and coordinating across technical stakeholders. A disciplined and detail-oriented approach is essential, with the ability to follow structured procedures consistently while maintaining a high level of operational accuracy. An analytical mindset and the ability to identify recurring operational issues and recommend process improvements will also be important for success in this role.
