This premier financial institution operates globally with a sophisticated and expanding presence in Singapore. Due to continued business growth and the complexity of their regional portfolio, the client is recruiting for a dynamic and highly seasoned Vice President – Head of Operations to lead their specialized operations and middle-office units.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the regional leadership (COO) and global stakeholders, you will oversee and manage the end-to-end Operations teams in Singapore, covering Trade, Payments, Loan Operations, Treasury, and the Middle Office Support Unit. As a key leader, you will ensure the delivery of efficient, cost-effective services for both Singapore and regional branches that outsource their operations to the hub. You will be responsible for the daily fulfillment of client transactional activities, implementing robust operational controls, and aligning transformation strategies with Group standards and regulatory requirements.

You will lead the design and implementation of new initiatives and change management activities, acting as a trusted advisor to the business. Managing a large team, your remit includes budget planning, headcount monitoring, and the continuous improvement of the control environment (RCSA, BCP, and Audit). You will collaborate closely with Business Units, Product Heads, and RMs to ensure operations remain agile and responsive to market trends and individual customer needs.

Qualifications

Degree qualified in Business, Finance, or a relevant discipline, you are a credible operations leader with a minimum of 10 years of proven track record in managing diverse operations teams, preferably within reputable financial institutions. You possess deep expertise in at least two core competencies across Trade, Payments, Loan, or Treasury operations. Prior experience in establishing new controls, managing onshore/offshore setups, and a strong understanding of regulatory guidelines (such as DTCC/TGBS reporting) is essential.

You are an influential change leader with strong communication skills in both English and Chinese, capable of leading teams through high-pressure and agile environments. You are a self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and the executive gravitas to manage regional stakeholders. Regional exposure and a strong background in coaching and mentoring are highly preferred.
