Description
One of the most respected commodities trading firms, the Company trades an impressive range of products, with a global international presence. As part of succession planning, the Group is now on the search for an Operations Manager for its Asia operations.

Role
Report to the Managing Director, the Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the trading activities, ensuring the effective running of the physical trades. The Manager will look to minimise business and operational risks, and will look to resolve escalated issues requiring intervention. Through the superior knowledge of product movement and relationships with the external stakeholders, the Operations Manager and his/ her team will look to optimize trading strategies.
Requirements

The successful candidate will be a degree holder, with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in cargo operations in energy. You will be well-networked with a solid reputation in the energy trading industry, with solid relationships with ports/ terminals, cargo inspectors, charterers, vetting teams. You will be described as an effective team manager, with proven track record in leading large and diverse teams in trading operations in commodities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with expert time management skills, are crucial to the sjuccess of the role. Due to the significant need to engage with stakeholders based in North Asia, fluency in Mandarin is essential.
