Lead Cloud Architect (APAC), Global Manufacturing

Overview
Our client is a Global Manufacturing group with a strong presence across the APAC region. As part of its ongoing digital and cloud transformation, the organisation is strengthening its regional infrastructure leadership to ensure its cloud platforms are secure, scalable and future-ready. This is a senior regional position that will shape cloud strategy, modernise hybrid environments, and drive alignment with global standards while supporting complex, multi-country operations.
Role
As a Lead Cloud Architect (APAC), you will be responsible for the overall architecture, design and delivery of cloud solutions across AWS, Azure and private cloud environments. You will define cloud standards and blueprints, lead migration and modernisation initiatives, and champion automation and cost optimisation across the region. Working closely with global and regional architecture teams, business stakeholders and service providers, you will translate business needs into robust technical roadmaps and oversee the implementation of secure, high-availability cloud platforms. In addition, you will lead and mentor a regional infrastructure team, manage vendors and budgets, and act as a backup Crisis Manager for major incidents across key APAC markets, coordinating response, recovery and continuous improvement following critical events.
Requirements
You have 10-15 years’ experience in infrastructure and cloud, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity, with proven expertise in architecting and operating cloud solutions on Azure and AWS, alongside hands-on exposure to private cloud platforms such as VMware, Nutanix or OpenStack. You have a strong track record in large-scale cloud migration and modernisation projects in APAC, with solid understanding of security, compliance, high availability and architecture governance. You are proficienct in automation and DevOps practices, combined with good knowledge of ITIL and cloud cost optimisation/FinOps principles; and excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills, including experience leading regional teams and managing crisis or major incident situations across multiple countries.
