LNG Charterer – Energy Firm

Description
This leading energy company is a global leader in LNG and a top player in energy management. Due to business expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an LNG Charterer to join their global LNG team, based in Singapore.

Role
Reporting to the Chartering Manager, the Charterer will be identifying and evaluating chartering opportunities aligned with the company’s trading strategies by analyzing market trends, freight rates, and vessel availability. It includes negotiating charter party terms, providing voyage guidance, and optimizing shipping positions with LNG Traders and Fleet Management to maximize profitability. Strong analytical skills in Excel and modeling are required to support decision-making and freight analysis. The position also involves maintaining relationships with key industry players, staying informed on market developments, and managing chartering contracts and vessel performance through company software (IMOS), while working on system integrations.

Requirements
The successful candidate should ideally have a degree in maritime studies or a related field, along with 3-5 years of experience in LNG chartering or ship brokering. The ability to analyze market data, freight rates, derivatives, freight model development, and voyage costs is crucial for making informed decisions and optimizing shipping operations. Strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of charter party terms and conditions, and good commercial judgment are also essential.
