Our client is a highly established major financial institution. It has been posting strong financial performance and currently undergoing strategic business transformation to achieve its ambitious growth priorities. There is now a rare opportunity to identify a proven leader to establish the bank’s global IT procurement capabilities to align with the bank’s enterprise IT and business strategies.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the APAC Chief Information Officer, the Managing Director, Global Technology Procurement Lead, is accountable for defining and executing the bank’s global enterprise technology procurement strategy. The role oversees sourcing and commercial management of global and international technology suppliers, ensuring optimal value delivery, risk management, and alignment with the bank’s enterprise IT and business strategies. This position is a global remit covering enterprise-wide IT procurement categories, including hardware, software, networks, telecommunications, and IT/management consulting and serves as a strategic advisor to senior technology, procurement, and business leaders worldwide. The mandate includes building long-term strategic supplier partnerships, driving procurement transformation, and developing a high-performing global team.

Requirements

The ideal executive brings a minimum of 20 years of procurement experience, including at least eight years in senior leadership roles, with a proven track record leading global IT procurement functions within complex, multinational organisations. They possess deep expertise across enterprise technology categories including hardware, software, networks, telecommunications, and IT or management consulting, and have successfully managed large-scale IT spend portfolios and global supplier ecosystems. A CIPS certification is preferred. The candidate demonstrates strong leadership capability, with the ability to build and lead high-performing, culturally diverse, and geographically distributed teams. They combine strong commercial acumen with advanced negotiation and analytical skills, exhibit executive presence and credibility when engaging senior stakeholders, and bring a broad understanding of IT, global legal and regulatory frameworks, and financial principles.
