Description
This is a leading commodities trading company with an impressive portfolio of assets and strategic partnerships. Due to increasing business needs, there is now an opportunity for a risk analyst to join their market risk team. The key objective of this hire is to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of daily P&L reports and trade book consolidations.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Risk, the Risk Analyst will be responsible for producing and consolidating daily P&L reports to ensure precision and consistency across trade books. The role involves resolving P&L-related queries from traders and departments, validating physical and derivative deal entries, and managing price curves and funding requirements. The Risk Analyst will monitor trading activity, highlight unusual trends, and support market and credit risk assessments. Additionally, they will collaborate with finance on month-end processes, provide key analytics reporting, maintain relationships with clearing brokers and banks, and drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and cross-team synergy.
Requirements
The successful candidate must hold a degree in a finance or quantitative discipline, with 3-5 years of experience in a commodity trading environment. Commodities and/or P&L expertise is essential, proficiency in data analysis, visualization, and automation tools is advantageous. Strong communication skills, attention to detail under pressure, and the ability to analyse and present large data sets effectively are crucial. The candidate should demonstrate commercial awareness, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work autonomously while managing workloads and front office expectations.
