The Senior Corporate Banker, Financial Sponsors, is responsible for leading and expanding the bank’s relationships with Financial Sponsor clients, including Private Equity, Infrastructure, Credit, and Alternative Asset Managers. The role focuses on originating, structuring, and executing complex financing solutions across the capital structure while building long-term, trusted partnerships with sponsor clients. Operating within the Financial Institutions Group, this position plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, deepening client engagement, and positioning the bank as a strategic partner across financing, markets, and advisory solutions in Asia and globally.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on leading and deepening senior-level relationships with Financial Sponsor clients by originating, structuring, and executing complex financing solutions aligned with sponsor strategies. It involves driving holistic client coverage across lending, capital markets, hedging, trade, treasury, and cash management, while partnering closely with internal product specialists to deliver integrated financing and global markets solutions. The role supports seamless transaction execution from origination through closing and leverages the bank’s global network to connect clients with affiliates and partner institutions. Responsibilities also include actively managing credit risk across the sponsor portfolio in line with internal and regulatory standards, maintaining robust account plans and credit approvals, and ensuring strong risk discipline, compliance, and portfolio quality. In addition, the role requires monitoring market trends and sponsor activity to identify new business opportunities and contributing to franchise growth by expanding wallet share and building long-term client partnerships

Requirements

The role requires a minimum of ten years’ experience in Financial Sponsor coverage within corporate or investment banking, with a proven track record of covering Private Equity, Infrastructure, Credit, and Alternative Asset Managers. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of financing structures, capital markets, and global banking products, alongside solid credit risk expertise and experience managing complex portfolios. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, executive presence to engage effectively with senior clients and internal stakeholders, and a highly proactive, commercially driven, and market-oriented mindset. Excellent communication and relationship management skills across regions are essential to success in this role.
