Senior Legal Counsel, Commodities Trading

Kerry Consulting is working closely with an international commodity trading firm and they are currently looking to hire a Senior Legal Counsel for the Singapore office. This is an exciting opportunity for senior commodities trading lawyer with proven track record and is keen to help an organization grow out their Singapore outfit.

Responsibilities

As a senior legal counsel within the team and reporting directly to the Head of Legal APAC, you will be managing and providing legal support on complex matters in relation to international trade, sanctions, shipping as well as regulatory compliance matters. You will assist in negotiating and drafting complex agreements, including prepayment and offtake agreements. You will also take a proactive approach in identifying regulatory risk and assist business to manage any risk exposures in an effective manner.

Requirements

In order to succeed in this role, you should be a common law qualified lawyer with minimum 10 years PQE. Prior experience in commodities trading and shipping sector will be required for this role with deep expertise and understanding on legal issues arising from commodities trading. Ideally, you will have a proven track record of managing and leading teams in your previous roles
