      Our Client

Our client is a rapidly expanding organization operating at the intersection of technology and infrastructure, with a growing presence across multiple key markets in Asia. Known for its forward-thinking leadership and long-term vision, the company is backed by well-established global investors and continues to scale its operations to meet evolving business demands.

The position is based in Johor, Malaysia and will play a central role in shaping and leading the company’s people agenda locally.

      Responsibilities

Reporting to the HR Director, the Senior HR Manager will oversee all aspects of the HR function within Malaysia, working closely with country and regional leadership to align people strategies with business objectives. This includes driving talent acquisition, employee engagement, HR operations, and compliance, while building a high-performing HR team to support the organization’s growth trajectory.

The role demands a strategic mindset paired with hands-on execution across the full employee lifecycle – from recruitment and onboarding to performance management, payroll, and offboarding. A strong emphasis will be placed on maintaining compliance with local labor laws, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring alignment with group-wide HR frameworks and initiatives. As you partner with business stakeholders, you will also be instrumental in translating business goals into HR solutions, championing change management, and introducing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

      Requirements

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree and brings at least 12 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibilities within dynamic and fast-scaling environments. A comprehensive understanding of Malaysian labor law is essential, along with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously while managing competing priorities.

Strong interpersonal skills, discretion, and the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization are key to success in this role. Experience in start-up or growth-stage companies will be highly advantageous, especially in building HR frameworks from the ground up. The role also calls for a forward-thinking approach to talent strategy and the ability to drive HR programs that enhance both employee experience and business outcomes.
