SVP/ Director, Commodities Sales – Major Brokerage

A major brokerage firm is looking to expand their business in Asia and seeks to hire an experienced commodity broker. This role is based in Singapore.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for growing the firm’s agricultural over the counter (OTC) products business in Asia, generating a book of business of USD2-3mio revenue in this region, focusing on primarily Soft and Agricultural Commodities. You will generate trade ideas and new deals, increasing the firm’s market share in Asia. This involves building relationships with counterparties and strong partnerships with regional financial institutions and major corporates. You will extend the firm’s OTC product offering to cover commodity & currency hybrid swaps, swaptions and derivatives. You will collaborate with regional banks to leverage on their franchise and client network, increasing the firm’s visibility in Asia.
Requirements
The ideal candidate holds a Degree in Finance or related discipline and have 10 – 15years of relevant experience, including having an existing book of Asia-based commodity business, with a book value of USD2-3mio. You are well versed with the soft and agricultural commodities space and are able to originate client demand and maintain strong client relationships in this region. An entrepreneurial individual, you enjoy driving new client acquisition as well as farming business from existing clients. To succeed in this role, you will be described as a team player and a self-motivated individual who thrives in a high growth environment. Consideration will be given for products within the wider commodity complex.
