VP, Debt Capital Markets (Korea Coverage) – Major Financial Institution

There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced banker to build and expand the bank’s APAC franchise, with a focus in Korea. This role is based in Singapore.

Responsibilities

Working closely with the Head of Debt Origination APAC, Relationship Managers, Financial Market Sales and Research, the successful candidate will originate deals and advise institutional clients on funding opportunities in primary bond markets. This involves identifying arbitrage opportunities between USD and EUR and keeping abreast of secondary market trends and regulatory developments in this region. You will be involved in pitching and planning debt roadshows, marketing conferences and related events in Europe and Asia. You will execute private placements, ensuring adherence to regulations and procedures. Working with the ESG team, you will advise institutional clients on sustainability topics with the objective of winning mandates and bookrunner roles.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has a Degree in Finance/Economics or related discipline and 5 – 10 years of experience in financial services in debt capital markets, treasury funding or in a Financial Institution coverage/relationship management role. You possess a strong network of financial institutions and agency banks in Asia, in particular, Korea and has a track record developing new business. Strong knowledge of the bond and swap markets and familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in capital markets in this region are essential. You are client-oriented, pro-active, able to work independently and thrive on building a business. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external deal parties.
