Cybersecurity Engineer, Financial Services

Overview
Our client is a financial services organisation with a strong focus on secure, regulated technology platforms. As it continues to enhance its cybersecurity capabilities, it is seeking a hands-on Security Engineer to help strengthen controls across identity, endpoints, applications, detection and response, and broader technology risk management.

Role
This position is suited for a security practitioner who enjoys building practical guardrails, improving security visibility, and embedding controls into engineering and operational environments. The role will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and technology teams to uplift identity security, harden endpoint and mobile environments, strengthen DevSecOps practices, improve secrets management, and enhance detection and response capabilities. The successful candidate will also contribute to incident support, control validation exercises, and audit or compliance readiness, while driving measurable improvements in coverage, resilience, and operational response.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in security engineering or related cybersecurity roles, with strong hands-on expertise in identity security, DevSecOps, detection and response, and security automation. You should be comfortable working across technical and business teams, with exposure to compliance-driven environments and industry security standards (e.g. SOC 2, PCI-DSS, CIS Benchmarks).
