Head of Legal, Commodity Trading

Kerry Consulting is currently working with our client who is a global leader in the commodities sector, operating across trading and shipping. They are currently looking to hire a Head of Legal to provide comprehensive legal support across the Group’s international operations.

Tanggungjawab:

You will also assist in providing day to day transactional legal guidance on a range of matters such as trade disputes, charterparties, bills of lading, and customs clearances. You will be responsible for all legal matters arising from the company’s commercial and financial activities. This includes but not limited to shipbuilding contracts, vessel sale and purchase agreements, product offtake arrangements, loan agreements, investments, and mergers and acquisitions.

In addition, the role involves managing any disputes for the group and liaise with external counsel to ensure the matter is resolve in a timely manner. You will also provide corporate secretarial oversight, including preparing board resolutions, maintaining statutory registers, and ensuring compliance with relevant company laws and filing deadlines.

Requirements:

You should be a Singapore or commonwealth qualified lawyer with at least 10 years PQE gained either from a commodity trading or maritime / shipping company. You should be an individual with strong organization and interpersonal skills. You should have experience navigating complex legal issues and applying practical, business-focused solutions to support internal teams in making informed decisions that minimise legal risk exposure.
