Overhead Accountant (12 months contract) – Energy Group

Overview

A leading global energy group is seeking an Overhead Accountant to ensure robust financial governance, accurate reporting, and full compliance with local and international standards. You will be part of a high-performing environment that values precision, accountability, and strong collaboration across diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Role

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will oversee overhead and general administrative accounting activities, including maintaining accurate records, managing cost allocations, and preparing timely, insightful reports. You will participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles while ensuring compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements. You will also support budgeting and forecasting, assist with audits, and manage submissions to government authorities. Additionally, the role offers opportunities to drive process improvements, collaborate with IT on automation, and contribute to ad‑hoc analytical projects.

Keperluan

The successful candidate will hold a degree in Accountancy or equivalent, preferably supported by a professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant or ACCA, with at least two years of experience managing full‑set accounts. Strong proficiency in Excel and VBA is essential, while experience with Power BI, Power Query, SQL, or Python is advantageous. Effective communication, a collaborative approach, and the ability to work independently are key. You are best described as meticulous, organised, and able to perform well under tight deadlines.
