Legal Counsel (Corporate)

This is a general corporate legal role working with a lean legal and corporate secretarial team. The client is also open to junior lawyers from litigation background with a strong interest to pivot in-house. Responsibilities
The Legal Counsel will be drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
The role will partner closely with business units to support corporate transactions, including financing activities, investments and divestments, by providing commercially sound legal advice throughout the transaction lifecycle.
The incumbent will also manage legal disputes and contentious matters, coordinating litigation strategy and case management where necessary, while serving as the primary point of contact for external legal counsel.
In addition, the Legal Counsel will work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders to uphold corporate governance standards, strengthen internal legal processes and ensure adherence to organisational policies.
Requirements
The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Law, with admission to the Singapore Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor being highly preferred. Candidates should have at least 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) gained in private practice or an in-house legal environment.
Experience advising on commercial contracts and corporate transactions is essential, while prior exposure to the technology/data centre/telecommunication sector would be an advantage.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical and drafting capabilities, with the ability to identify key legal issues and deliver practical, timely and commercially focused advice. Familiarity with AI-powered tools to enhance legal workflows will be viewed favourably.
Strong organisational, project management and stakeholder management skills, coupled with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic environment, are essential for success in this role.
